Assisting Fallen Officers

The APSPA holds semiannual fundraisers to support the Arizona Security Officer Memorial Fund, the Association’s non-profit, charitable endeavor that assists the families of security officers who are killed in the line of duty. Family members are presented with a check to help with expenses and a plaque bearing the name and image of their loved one. The names of the fallen officers are included in the Arizona Security Guard Museum.

Since 1977, 14 security guards have been killed in the line of duty in Arizona. The fundraising events are held in a family atmosphere and people of all ages turnout. Raffles, trophies and some special guests are featured.

Chili Cook-Offs

APSPA began holding chili cook-offs in 2012. The annual event is well attended and is usually held in the spring. Besides some pretty good chili, the event features live music, dancing and some good-natured competition among participating companies.

Bowling Tournaments

Bowling tournaments are another fundraising tool used by APSPA. Tournaments are held at bowling alleys around the Valley for the convenience of the participants. This event has received television news coverage in the past.

Networking Mixers

Networking Mixers are held periodically throughout the year at various locations around the Valley. These events are held in lieu of some monthly meetings and gives current and prospective members and their guests the opportunity to intermingle in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

Luncheon Meetings

APSPA holds luncheon meetings the second Thursday of each month except for the summer months. Periodically, a networking mixer will be held in lieu of a meeting. Notifications of meetings are sent by email, so make sure we have your contact information. Visit this page regularly to learn about meetings and other events that might interest you.
